We have received the notification below of two Territory Plan Variations (TPVs) relating to the Red Hill Integrated Plan. One is for the area on Kent Street around the Telstra Building and the other is for the proposed development of the Over 55s residential village on the Federal Golf Club (FGC) together with the transfer of the unused section of the FGC lease to the Red HIll Nature Reserve.
Both TPVs outline the next steps in the implementation of the Red Hill Integrated Plan, which the Red Hill Regenerators support – as outlined on our website at http://redhillregenerators.org.au/?p=3071 and http://redhillregenerators.org.au/?cat=30
DV380 – Deakin Office Park
The draft variation proposes to:
- incorporate Deakin section 66 blocks 2 and 6 into the Deakin office area under the Deakin Precinct Map and Code and rezone to Commercial CZ2 Business
- include Deakin section 66 blocks 7 and 8 and section 78 block 13 into the surrounding urban open space network by rezoning the areas to PRZ1 Urban Open Space
- add the area rezoned to PRZ1 Urban Open Space into the ‘pc – nature reserve’ public land overlay, allowing the land to be formally incorporated into the adjoining Red Hill Nature Reserve
Written comments on DV380 are invited from the public until Friday 25 November 2022.
DV384 – Federal Golf Course
The draft variation proposes to:
- rezone land of high ecological value at the north-western part of the golf course from PRZ2 Restricted Access Recreation zone to NUZ3 Hills, Ridges and Buffer zone and add a ‘pc – nature reserve’ public land overlay to formally incorporate the land in the adjoining Red Hill Nature Reserve
- amend the Red Hill and Garran Precinct Maps and Codes to allow a retirement village at the Federal Golf Course (Red Hill section 56 parts of block 1) with access off Kitchener Street (Garran section 10 block 74)
Written comments on DV384 are invited from the public until Friday 2 December 2022.
Details of how to submit comments can be found in the draft variations which are available online at: https://www.planning.act.gov.au/planning-our-city/territory_plan/draft_variations_to_the_territory_plan
