Red Hill work activity Sunday 1 August 2021

Please read the advice below regarding Covid protection at this event
You are invited to join us on Sunday 1 August 2021 at 09.00am for our next work activity on Red Hill.   On Sunday, we plan to continue our progress from previous months to deal with mainly verbascum, by beheading/dabbing the flower spikes and chipping plants.

More information: info@redhillregenerators.org.au

Location: Park at the top of Brereton Street, Garran by 9am, where we will assemble and walk about 0.5km to the site

Activities: We plan to attack patches of verbascum located along the maintenance track part way up the hill in the area above Couvreur Street, Garran by chipping with mattocks.  It is now too cold to effectively spray or dab the verbascum.

Conditions: open bush, gentle to steep slopes, rocky in parts.

You bring: Water to drink, hat, gloves, long sleeved shirt, long pants essential, eye protection, sunscreen, solid enclosed shoes. BYO morning tea. It is essential that you bring gloves, hand sanitiser, your own pen for signing the book (and your own tools if possible). (See Covid 19 Advice, including mask wearing requirements below)

We bring:   Heavy duty bin bags for seed heads, some hand sanitiser, disinfected tools, and instructions. (See Covid 19 Advice below)

NoteIt is important that you attend the Covid safety and activity briefing at 0900 at the activity site.    A byo morning tea is usually held at 11am, with an opportunity to discuss matters of relevance to the Group. Such discussions constitute ‘General Meetings’ as defined by the Rules of our organisation and may be minuted.

Covid 19 Advice

  1. Wearing a mask is not required, but is strongly encouraged, particularly when the group is gathered at the briefing, morning tea and conclusion.
