- 27 November 2011: The next working bee will be on Sunday 4 December 2011 from 9am to 12.30pm. We will be targeting Cootamundra wattles (and St Johns Wort for those with chem cert) on the Deakin side of the Hill about 200m up the hill from Rawson Street in grid 4N of Map 68 in the Yellow Pages. Access is from the top of Strickland Crescent, walk over the cut off drain, across the bottom trail and up the hill 50 m to the second trail, and then turn to the east (Forrest side) along this track and look for my car and trailer. I’ll be there from 9, but come at any time that is convenient, morning tea at 10.45 am, tools provided, bring water and something for morning tea. Flowering should still be pretty spectacular, so if it is a hot day we may only work for a few hours and finish with a walk.More…
- 22 November 2011: The proposed route of the proposedCentenary cycle and walking trail within the Red Hill Nature Reserve appears to carve a new track through endangered Yellow Box-Red Gum grassy woodland along a completely new track north from the Red Hill Summit restaurant.
The Red Hill Regenerators have not only not been consulted about this proposed route, but have been advised earlier that the trail would follow existing tracks, fire trails and the Summit Road. The Group is strongly opposed to the proposed route north from the summit restaurant to Mugga way.
