Government activities on Red Hill

The Parks & Conservation Services has advised of the following activities on Red Hill over the next few weeks

  • Rabbit control program starts up next week. With fumigating and shooting planned. Reserve closure won’t be necessary to operations.
  • There is a company replacing the temporary fence around asbestos sites- replacing rentals with purchased temp fencing.
  • There’s a stakeholder doing optic cable upgrades along the Rutidosis track. They’ve been informed about the sensitivity of the area and their license has been approved.
  • The ‘central lookout trail’ (one down from the restaurant) will be maintained as of 15th of June. The track will be closed for about 5 weeks.
  • We’ve got a contractor, Mitch and his team, treating Chilean Needlegrass for the next week or two.
