Federal Golf Club development proposal – your views are invited

Federal Golf Club Housing Development
The Federal Golf Club is progressing with plans to construct a housing development for the over 55s. This development is located within the current footprint of the golf course, which is an improvement on most of the previous FGC proposals but it seems to be a large project involving many units and will have implications for Red Hill Nature Reserve.

Potential problems include:
. Possible bushfire prevention actions on the reserve
. The impact of the upgrade of the FGC access road
. The impact of a large number of housing units in close proximity to the reserve including traffic on the access road
. The necessary clearing of native vegetation that will inevitably be undertaken.
We understand that the development is likely to be completed in stages with a commitment to proceed with the first stage planned for later this year.
Despite there being few details at this stage, we would be pleased to hear from you with your views on such a development.  We will be in touch with further news and will again seek your input. In the meantime, we will raise the potential issues related to the development with the golf club and others.
