In place of our usual mid month activity on Red Hill, volunteers are invited to join our great ranger Martin Bajt to cut and transport cootamundra cuttings to a planting site on Red Hill in preparation for our World Environmental Day tree planting on Sunday 2 June 2019.
Time: Monday 20 May 2019 Work: 1200 to 1400

Location: Meet at the gate into the Red Hill Reserve, at the Kent St/Carruthers St Hughes intersection
Activities: Cut and load cootamundra cuttings to transport them to a tree planting site
Conditions: flat with open woodland
You bring: Water to drink, hat, gloves, long sleeved shirt, long pants, eye protection, sunscreen cream, solid shoes.
We bring: Our ranger will have a chain saw for cutting the Cootamundra.
Note: It is important that you attend the safety briefing at midday. Children under 15 years must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian. Individuals who are under 18 years must have parental or guardian consent.
Cancellation: The activity will be cancelled by email (if possible) if enough rain/wind is forecast to make planned work potentially hazardous, or high temperatures before midday are forecast. NOTE: In addition to the monthly work activities, other events of interest for your diary include a tube stock planting (June, to be confirmed), Wildflower/wildlife Walk (2 November) and a Butterfly Walk (30 November).
