Red Hill Regenerators Work Activity Wednesday 8 April 2026 9 – 11.30am

Red Hill Regenerators Work Activity Wednesday 8 April 2026 9 – 11.30am

Following the successful planting activity in late March it is now time to do the layout for planting which will be undertaken in areas 2 and 3 shown on the attached aerial image.

The area in which trees, shrubs and forbs are to be planted has been marked out.

The work activity on Wednesday 8 April will involve hitting marker stakes into the ground to mark the spot within the planting areas where a plant is to be planted. Marker stakes will be provided.  Tape measures will also be provided to help with getting the plant positioning correct.

Volunteers will need to bring a hammer or mallet to hit stakes into the ground.

Once we have the area marked out the Parks and Conservation Service will dig
all the planting holes in the period 13 – 17 April.  We will then be a position to
carry out planting around 320 plants on Sunday 19 April 2026.

Location: Park and assemble at the top end of Rusden Street Garran by 9am.
We will then walk to the plantings site where a task and safety briefing
will be held. Morning tea at 11am at the work site. Around a 10-minute walk
to the work site.  The work activity to end by no later than 11.30am.

Conditions:  Sloping rocky land and woodland.

You bring: Water to drink, hat, leather gloves, long sleeved shirt, long
pants essential, eye protection, sunscreen, solid enclosed shoes. BYO
morning tea.

Note:     The byo morning tea is an opportunity to discuss matters of
relevance to the Group. Work will finish at 11.30am but may be curtailed in
hot or wet weather.

Cancellation: The activity will be cancelled by email (if possible), no
later than 8am on the activity day, if rain/wind is forecast which could
make planned work potentially hazardous, high temperatures before midday are
