We made excellent progress at our previous activity working around Davidson’s Trig, chipping verbascum on the grassy slope and among the rocks below the Trig. There is still plenty left for us to do up there on Sunday 4 May, including verbascum, horehound and briar rose. This time we will meet at the Mugga Way car park and work up the slope from the cut off drain to the summit. The wooded slope, with its contingent of resident kangaroos, has many briar rose plants to cut/dab. Higher up the slope between the woodland and the ridge, a large patch of horehound needs to be chipped/pulled. Towards and over the ridge there are plenty of verbascum to chip. Something for everyone.

Location: Park and assemble at the Mugga Way car park. Task, tool distribution and safety briefings will be held at 9am sharp. Morning tea at 11.30am at the car park. Work usually wraps up at about 12.30pm.
Activities: chip verbascum, chip/pull horehound, cut/dab briar rose and woody weeds.
Conditions: Steep climb up to the work location. Mostly open woodland and grassland. Very rocky just below the Trig.
You bring: Water to drink, hat, leather gloves, long sleeved shirt, long pants essential, eye protection, sunscreen, solid enclosed shoes. BYO morning tea.
We bring: Tools – We will bring some small mattocks, loppers, secateurs and saws. Herbicide dabbers will be available and for refill if yours is empty. We will also bring a basic first aid kit, and provide tool use and weeding ID and advice as needed. Bring your own tools, if available.
Note: The byo morning tea is an opportunity to discuss matters of relevance to the Group. Such discussions constitute ‘General Meetings’ as defined by the Rules of our organisation and may be minuted. Work will normally finish at 12.30pm but may be curtailed in hot or wet weather.
