Productive work along the eastern slope of the hill continued at our last activity, with removal of a large patch of horehound, scattered briar rose and verbascum, and small patches of blackberry. Just before we finished for the day, a further horehound patch was discovered, with other verbascum patches along the higher slopes, and a large patch of privet seedlings at the bottom of the slope.
On Wednesday 21 May 2025 we plan to return to this area to tackle any remaining weeds, including those mentioned above. With colder weather now here, it is becoming less productive to cut/dab blackberry, nettle tree and briar rose, but privet, cotoneasta and pyracantha can be dealt with year around this way, and of course chipping verbascum and horehound is effective year round.
