Regenerators working bee: Sunday 7 February 2016

The Red Hill Regenerators invite you to our first working bee of 2016 on Sunday 7 February 2016

Welcome back to Red Hill and its many weeds.  This month we need to water the plantings which are close to the two water cubes located on the ridge south of Davidsons Trig. Other activities include woody weeds and verbascum, so there are plenty of alternatives.

The details:

Time: Sunday 7 February 2016 Work: 0900 to 1230, with byo morning tea at 1100

More information: Paul Ratcliffe (info@redhillregenerators.org.au). Prior registration is not required.

Location: Meet at the top of Rusden Street, Garran at 9am sharp for a lift or to drive up to the ridge, or at the ridge.

Activities:

1. Water plants (we didn’t get enough rain in the last rain event) at both water cubes. ESSENTIAL: bring two buckets.
2. Cut and bag verbascum spikes and cut/dab plants.
3. Complete the work started in November 2015 by the Green army – cut and dab Nettle Tree and pyracantha stumps.
4. Cut and dab other woody weeds – lots to choose from.
.

Conditions: A mix of open grassland around the ridge,  steep and rocky below the ridge on east side.

You bring: Water, hat, long sleeved shirt, long pants, sunburn cream, solid shoes, eye protection, byo morning tea.

We bring: Gloves, tools, bags, herbicides. Safety briefing and instructions at 9.15am.

Note: Children under 16 years must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult. The event will be cancelled by email (if practicable)  in the event of rain or extreme heat.
